The Experience of Prayer at CLM
Prayer is a surrendered union with creation, an intimate connection with the Divine that allows us to become conduits of Presence. In this state of tender interdependence, we open ourselves to the flow of Life energy, releasing the illusion of separation and stepping into a river of inherent connection with God, our neighbors, the earth, and the cosmos.

CONNECTION TO THE DIVINE
What Prayer Means to CLM
For Celebrating Life Ministries, prayer is the essence of our connection with the Divine, a state of being where we become catchers of God’s potential for healing, love, and creation. It’s a practice of quieting our minds and opening our hearts to participate in the flow of divine energy.
Prayer transforms us into living conduits of Presence, infusing our intentions with the power of life. Through this intimate communion, we remember our true nature as rays of God’s love, enabling us to co-create with the divine.
“When we surrender to love in the present moment, we encounter the flow of Divine Presence: Prayer is not primarily saying words or thinking thoughts. It is, rather, a life stance. It’s a way of living in the Presence, living in awareness of the Presence, and sourcing Joy from (even of enjoying) the Presence.”
– Richard Rohr
The power of prayer
Why We Pray
We pray to surrender our plans to the flow of God’s love, opening ourselves to the field of possibilities and the totality of creation. Through prayer, we amplify our collective power for healing and transformation, joining in a collaboration of hearts to align with the natural flow of divine energy.
Prayer allows us to live life as a continuous act of communion, where all our actions, thoughts, and relationships become expressions of divine love. By praying, we embrace the miraculous potential that emerges when we let go of control and hand our lives over to the divine order of creation.
