I have been to the Casa, in Brazil a number of times and one visit had a big impact on my beliefs in the Spiritual healing which takes place there. On a day before I was to sit in Current, we drove over to the soup kitchen for a visit. On the way back, the van hit a pothole, and I sustained a lower back injury. The next day I decided to stand on the outside balcony and meditate, instead of sitting in Current for a few hours. The waiting room to Current and to pass in front of John of God was packed. I saw an open seat all the way up front in the room, and thought I may try to sit for a while. To my surprise, the crowd parted as I was going up. I gently sat down and there was no pain. I closed my eyes and meditated. I then started to hear a voice telling me to “Give Padre Pio to the baby”. I could not understand the request. It was repeated a number of times. I opened my eyes and saw a man get up near me and a lady with a baby in a stroller sat down. I could see the baby girl had some physical issues. Again, the voice returned, “Give Padre Pio to the baby”. At that moment, my hand went to my chest and I felt my Padre Pio medallion on a small rope chain. It was given to me by Padre Paul for my Ordination in becoming a Monk in CLM. I walked over to the lady and asked her to give my Padre Pio medallion to her baby. She didn’t speak English, so I motioned to her and assisted in putting the medallion on her girl. At that moment I felt a blessed feeling come over me.
She and her baby proceeded to the line to pass in front of John of God.
A day or two later I passed them on the street. To my amazement, the little girl was sitting up in the stroller smiling and happy, as was her mother.
This was and will be the most Blessed Spiritual event I have witnessed at the Casa.
